Irresponsibility is easy. It’s easy to examine our lives and see ourselves as victims of our circumstances rather than accept responsibility for the decisions that led us there. The longer we continue to ignore our responsibility, the more we are rewarded because we don’t have to face the consequences of our actions. But irresponsibility isn’t neutral. When we don’t accept responsibility for ourselves, someone else is forced to shoulder the burden. God created us to be in relationship and community, therefore we are most fulfilled when we do our part. So how do we stop the cycle of blame?
