Wedding Policies & Information
Securing Your Wedding Date
Once you’ve confirmed your wedding date is available by either using the form on this page or by contacting the church office, we ask that you pay a deposit to secure your wedding date. The deposit amount for non-members is the $500 building fee. The deposit amount for members is $100, which will be applied to the required fees. Please either mail or drop-off a payment along with a completed wedding contract, which can be obtained by contacting the church office. Checks should be made payable to Bedford Alliance Church.
Wedding Rehearsal
Your wedding rehearsal may be scheduled for the day before your wedding after 2:00 pm.
Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception
Wedding receptions are not allowed to be held at Bedford Alliance Church.
If you wish to hold your rehearsal dinner at Bedford Alliance Church, you must reserve the date with our office as well as pay all applicable fees (see below for fees). We have two rooms available for your rehearsal dinner: Community Room (holds up to 80 people) and the Connect Room (holds up to 20 people). Both rooms are the same fee. Kitchen use and restrooms are included in the fees. The maximum usage time is limited to two hours. There is no smoking or alcohol allowed in the building. All personal items must be removed once dinner has ended.
Pastoral Requirements
Bedford Alliance Church requires that a licensed minister of the state of Michigan perform wedding ceremonies at our facility. We have several staff pastors who are available to perform ceremonies. Our staff pastors are also available to perform ceremonies at locations other than our church. If you use one of our staff pastors or if a staff member performs your premarital counseling, the premarital counseling fee is required. If you are not using a staff pastor, your performing minister must receive approval from our elder board. For our elders to approve your officiant, they must know the officiant’s name, if they are a pastor, their church’s name, their church’s statement of faith, and whether they will perform premarital counseling with you.
Building Policies
Bedford Alliance Church does not allow any lit candles during wedding ceremonies other than the unity candle. Rice, birdseed, confetti, etc. may not be thrown in or around the building. If you wish to use items in place of these, please have them approved by our facility manager. We are a smoke-free facility and the use of alcohol, drugs, and controlled substances is prohibited on our grounds. It is the responsibility of the bride and groom to ensure these policies are adhered to by those in the wedding party and wedding attendees.
Wedding Screens
We have white panels that are used during weddings to hide the instruments on our stage. This prevents us from having to tear-down and set-up before and after every wedding. We do not allow for instruments and stage designs to be cleared for weddings. Our worship pastor will work with you to determine the stage design for your wedding. If you would like to see examples of the wedding screens, you can set up a time to come see them or we can send you images of them in use.
Media Requirements
All audio files you wish to have played before, during, or after your wedding ceremony must be provided to the church in mp3 format (ex. files on a USB drive). We are unable to play CD's in our facility.
We have two large screens in our sanctuary that can be used to play videos before, during, or after your wedding ceremony. All video files must be provided in .mp4 or .mov format (ex. files on a USB drive). We are unable to play DVD's in our facility.
Video Recording
We offer the opportunity to have your wedding ceremony recorded via one of our sanctuary cameras. This is not a professional videography service; rather it is a simple recording of the activities on the stage. If you choose to use this service, you must pay the $100 fee. This fee covers a person to operate the camera, making sure nothing is missed on the stage as well as final editing of your wedding video.
