We believe in the power of prayer. James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” We’ve witnessed first-hand miraculous changes that result from the faithful prayers of a few. That’s what Prayer Groups are all about!
A Prayer Group is a group of a few people who meet regularly to lift up specific needs in prayer. A Prayer Group could be a few school administrators who meet in the school weekly to pray for students and the school. It could be a few church members who meet in a home to pray for the church and staff. It could be a few friends who meet in the township’s parking lot to pray for our government and nation.
Whatever the topic, Prayer Groups offer the opportunity to strengthen your faith and invite God’s power into our church, community, and nation.
Each Prayer Group operates autonomously, allowing for flexibility in meeting times, location, format, and length. Groups can meet at homes, in public locations, or at the church. You could even form a Prayer Group that prays while walking around your neighborhood!
Your Prayer Group might want to jump into prayer right away or start with an opening Scripture. You can pray in a more intercessory style, selecting the topics you want to pray about ahead of time, or just pray as you feel the Holy Spirit leads. The goal of Prayer Groups is to get people praying corporately on a regular basis – how you do it is up to you!
