Most of us are familiar with a nativity scene. There’s usually a stable, Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, animals, and shepherds. Sometimes they include Magi, a star, or angels. Yet most nativities leave out an unexpected player in the Christmas story. Even though we sing “silent night, holy night,” on that first Christmas, an enemy was waiting to be unleashed.
