Sometimes in life we are tempted to walk toward the way of the Pharisee. We quit looking at the sacrifice of Christ and begin to compare ourselves to others causing us to become prideful. How we apply the Word of God to our lives determines how much the way of the Pharisee shows.
John 13:35 says, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” You can do what is right according to the law, but just like the Pharisees, miss the point of showing love to others. You can be right, and not righteous at the same time.
The way of the Pharisee was to create laws and customs that made it more difficult for people to come to Christ. Are there cultural or religious customs that we have added to the Gospel as requirements before we accept or approve of people?
