The things of this world sometimes makes it hard for us to have faith in an all-powerful God. We begin to think through the lens of what we know instead of looking beyond what we understand. As we see in John 11, Jesus is powerful enough to raise the dead.
A true Contagious Christian is one who can balance the Grace that can soften a heart and the Truth that will change a life. When this balance is not properly maintained, people can be hurt. But balanced correctly, and by leading with Grace, peoples lives can be changed.
Choosing to show grace is not always an easy task. Many times, it will be inconvenient, and will end up costing you. But the joy you will find in showing someone the same love Christ shows to us, will greatly offset any setbacks you face.
Matthew 10:8c says, “Freely you have received, freely give.” Grace was given to us freely. We do not have to do anything to earn it. All we must do is accept it. And we are to show that same grace to others.
What is a Christian? Millions of people all over the planet all claim to be Christians, but their beliefs, doctrines and practices vary widely. A true Christian is not one defined by the world today, but defined as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
The final sermon in our series “Choose Grace” takes a look at how we are to show Christ’s love to the world. Using the example of a fruit tree, we can see that how we act and talk stems from where we are rooted.
