Have you ever looked at the brokenness in our world and asked, “God, why aren’t You doing something?” That’s exactly how Gideon felt in the book of Judges as he watched the Midianites oppress his people. But when Gideon cried out in frustration, God responded in a surprising way—God called Gideon to lead the Israelite army into victory over Midian. Gideon doubted his ability, but God wasn’t looking for perfection. Similarly, God calls us to be His instruments of change. Our weaknesses are God’s opportunity. He empowers ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
