What does it mean to be a member?

Church membership is ownership. It’s making a commitment to the church and a spiritual family. Joining the church in membership means you’ve attended Bedford Alliance for at least six months, taken our one-night membership class, and signed a membership covenant stating you are in a relationship with Christ, you are transforming your life and growing in Christ, you are serving and using your gifts, you give at Bedford Alliance Church, and that you agree with our doctrinal statement. If you’d like to learn more about membership, click here.

If you’re interested in having your wedding at Bedford Alliance, check the availablity of your wedding date by filling out the form below.

Other Policies

Securing Your Wedding Date

Once you’ve confirmed your wedding date is available by either using the form above or contacting the church office, we ask that you pay a deposit to secure your wedding date. The deposit amount for non-members is the $500 building fee. The deposit amount for members is $100, which will be applied to the required fees. Please either mail or drop-off a payment along with a completed wedding contract, which you can download on this page. Checks can be made payable to Bedford Alliance Church.

Wedding Rehearsal

Your wedding rehearsal may be scheduled for the day before your wedding after 2:00 pm. You can have your rehearsal dinner on church grounds, but then you must pay the $50 wedding rehearsal custodial fee.

Pastoral Requirements

Bedford Alliance requires that a licensed minister of the state of Michigan perform wedding ceremonies at our facility. We have several staff pastors who are available to perform ceremonies. Our staff pastors are also available to perform ceremonies at locations other than our church. If you use one of our staff pastors, the premarital counseling fee becomes required. If you are not using a staff pastor, your performing minister must receive approval from our elder board. For our elders to approve your officiant, they must know the officiant’s name, if they are a pastor, their church’s name, their church’s statement of beliefs, and whether they will perform premarital counseling with you.

Building Policies

Bedford Alliance does not allow any lit candles during wedding ceremonies other than the unity candle. Rice, birdseed, confetti, etc. may not be thrown in or around the building. If you wish to use items in place of these, please have them approved by our facility manager. We are a smoke-free facility and the use of alcohol, drugs, and controlled substances is prohibited on our grounds. It is the responsibility of the bride and groom to ensure these policies are adhered to by those in the wedding party and wedding attendees.

Wedding Screens

We have white panels that are used during weddings to hide the instruments on our stage. This prevents us from having to tear-down and set-up before and after every wedding. If you would prefer that the stage be empty and not use the wedding screens, you must pay the $200 stage clearing fee. Please note that depending on our stage design, certain items may not be removed. Our worship pastor will work with you to determine the stage design for your wedding. If you would like to see examples of the wedding screens, you can set up a time to come see them or we can send you images of them in use.

First, check to make sure your wedding date is available by filling out the form on this page or call the church office at 734-847-3364. If your date is available, our office manager will meet with you to go over booking, deposit, fees, and payment.

Yes, we ask for non-members to pay the $500 building fee as a deposit and members to pay $100 that will be applied to the required fees.

The deposit is required at booking and the remaining fees are due one month prior to your wedding date.

Any fees you pay are refundable up to one week prior to your wedding date. The only fee that is non-refundable is the premarital counseling if you’ve already completed the counseling.

Our stage is set-up with instruments and equipment that is needed for our Sunday morning services. We prefer to leave this equipment set-up and hide it by using white screens. If you don’t want to use the white screens and prefer us to remove all our equipment, you must pay the extra stage clearing fee. Contact the church office for a picture of the screens or make an appointment to come see them. Email Us

We don’t have many restrictions when it comes to decorating for your wedding. However, we don’t allow the use of lit candles other than a unity candle. We also don’t allow any materials that will leave a mess to be thrown inside or outside our building (rice, birdseed, confetti, sprinkles, streamers, flower petals, etc.)

We don’t allow outside individuals to run our equipment. The sound technician also runs our light board besides doing sound, so the sound/light technician is not optional.

You aren’t required to use one of our staff pastors as your officiant, but we do require that a licensed minister of the state of Michigan perform the ceremony. If you are using someone outside of our church, they must receive approval from our elder board. For our elders to approve your officiant, they must know the officiant’s name, if they are a pastor, their church’s name, their church’s statement of beliefs, and whether they will perform premarital counseling with you.

Our staff pastors are available for performing ceremonies outside of Bedford Alliance. However, the $250 fee for members and $350 fee for non-members still applies as does the $100 premarital counseling fee. There may be additional mileage charges as well depending on the distance of the ceremony.
