We all want a better life, yet sometimes the choices we make lead us in the opposite direction. Jesus confronts that tension with a challenging question: What are we willing to remove from our lives when something is pulling us away from God? Following Jesus means taking sin seriously—not because He wants to restrict our lives, but because He wants something better for us. Sometimes experiencing the life God has for us means having the courage to let go of what is keeping us from it.
