Sanctity of Human Life

The third Sunday of January is National Sanctity of Human Life Day. This day is used to bring awareness to the value God places on human life as we are created in His image. All people have infinite value before God, regardless of age, race, or mental capacity, which includes the unborn. In honor of Sanctity of Human Life Day, guest speaker Savannah Marten will share how we can help create a world where every life is valued. Savannah is the Executive Director of Bella Vita Network, which encompasses the on-campus ministry Soul Purpose, The Pregnancy Center of Greater Toledo, and The Haven, an after-abortion care facility.

Tyranny of the Urgent

1/11/2026

Have you ever noticed that the moment you try to pursue what truly matters, distractions multiply? Deadlines, notifications, and constant demands pull at our attention, crowding out what is most important. In the book of Nehemiah, we meet a leader who faced relentless opposition—not just through direct threats, but through subtle distractions meant to pull him away from God’s calling. Like Nehemiah, we’re challenged to name our priorities, refuse distraction, and boldly declare, “I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down.”

Before It's Too Late

1/4/2026

Life moves faster than we realize. Weeks turn into months, months into years, and before long, we wonder where the time went. Ecclesiastes reminds us that our lives are like a vapor: here for a moment, then gone. This truth calls us to remember our Creator while we still have breath, to live for what truly lasts before it’s too late. Today’s challenge is to make our limited time count by investing in what will outlive us. In the end, it’s not wealth or recognition that will matter most, it’s people.

As we step into a new season, it’s easy to feel weighed down by past failures, regrets, or seasons that didn’t turn out as planned. In Isaiah 43, God speaks hope to people who feel stuck and discouraged, reminding them that He is still at work. Even in seasons that feel like wilderness, God is making a way and providing what we need. When we listen for His voice and step forward in faith, we discover that God is always doing something new.

Fear Not

12/23/2025 - 12/24/2025

We live in a world filled with anxiety about the future, our families, our health, and the unknown. On the first Christmas night, those same fears filled the darkness when angels appeared to shepherds in a quiet field. But God’s message then is still His message now: fear does not get the final word. This Christmas Eve, we’ll slow down and rediscover the wonder of a God who stepped into our fear as a baby in a manger, bringing peace that the world cannot give.

Mess Before the Manger

12/7/2025 - 12/21/2025

Many of us fear our past makes us unusable to God, but the Christmas story proves otherwise. Before we reach the manger, Scripture highlights the messy, unlikely people in Jesus’ family line. Their failures didn’t stop God’s plan; they revealed why we need a Savior. This Christmas, we’ll discover how the God who worked through their brokenness can redeem ours too. Jesus didn’t come from a perfect story, He came to redeem ours.
