New York City – the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps. New York City is the most famous city in the world and one of the cities at the forefront of culture, business, technology, and the arts. But this city is also home to a large population of people experiencing homelessness and has a 15 percent poverty rate. NYC needs the hope and peace of Jesus Christ more than ever.

Current high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to share the love of God with the people of New York. We're partnering with the organization Adventures in Missions (AIM), who will organize where we’re staying and our activities for the week.

While in NYC, students will participate in activities like homeless outreach by serving food at soup kitchens, passing out clothing at clothing distribution centers, joining local churches for city cleanup, serving in a kids' camp, and prayer and street outreach. One of our days will also be set aside for NYC sightseeing.

Students will be escorted on this trip by our Lead Pastor Ryan Wright and our high school student leaders. AIM will also provide site leaders to help us with our ministry activities for the week. We’ll be staying at a church in Brooklyn, NY with three floors – a main floor with a kitchen and common area and separate floors for boys and girls. The church is set up with bunk beds, but students will need to bring their own bedding and pillow.

The cost for the trip is $350 per student, which includes travel, lodging, and meals. We will travel by plane out of Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), and then we will purchase metro cards and travel by subway around the city. Students will want to bring extra money for souvenirs, extra food, and sightseeing.

Students will also be required to attend training before the trip to prepare for what we’ll be experiencing in NYC. More information about the training will be provided at a later date, and a packing list will be provided in the confirmation email upon registering.

Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to grow in your faith while sharing the love of Jesus with the people of NYC!
