Alisa will be with us for the second weekend in October, leading four sessions on current cultural issues and how to respond from a biblical worldview. Learn more about each session below!

Session 1 & 2 - Parent Conference

Saturday, October 12 | 9-11:30 am
Live Your Truth & Equipping Kids for a Lasting Faith

On Saturday, October 12, we’ll be hosting a Parent Conference for parents, guardians, grandparents, coaches, teachers, or anyone working with young people.

The first session from 9-10 am will be on the topic of “live your truth.” Alisa will talk about common cultural lies that permeate social media, such as, “live your truth,” “follow your heart,” and “you are enough.” Even some Christian materials promote these ideas, but are they biblical? In this talk, Alisa will walk us through 3-5 cultural lies, expose the incorrect theology behind them, and then turn to the Bible for a much better story.

The second session from 10:15-11:15 am will be on equipping our kids for lasting faith. In an increasingly secular culture, how do we help kids have a Christian worldview? In this session, Alisa will share tips for parents about teaching their kids discernment in an age-appropriate manner and to analyze media from a biblical perspective. The final time of the conference will be reserved for Q&A with Alisa.

We will provide childcare for the Parent Conference for ages birth-5th grade. Please register for the conference so we can plan for the appropriate number of kids.

Session 3

Sunday, October 13 | 9 & 11 am
Progressive Christianity

Alisa will join us during our Sunday mornings services at 9 & 11 am on October 13. During service, she will discuss the growing movement of progressive Christianity. Alisa will walk us through the history, key beliefs, and key figures of the movement, and ultimately show how progressive Christianity is at odds with historic Christianity.

There is no registration required. Just join us for one of our Sunday morning services!

Session 4

Sunday, October 13 | 5-6:30 pm
The Deconstruction of Christianity

Once a month, we host a 90-minute teaching called BAC 90. For the month of October, we’re honored to have Alisa join us for a final session on the topic of the deconstruction of Christianity. A new movement called “deconstruction” is sweeping the nation. Alisa will help us understand what deconstruction is, where it comes from, why it’s compelling to some, and how it disorients the lives of so many. From this session, we’ll learn the main issues surrounding faith deconstruction and explore wise and loving ways to respond from a biblical perspective.

There is no registration required, and we will have a program available for kids ages birth-5th grade and students in 6th-8th grade. Students in 9th grade and up are encouraged to attend the session with Alisa.
