Divorcecare Divorcecare

Find help and healing

Divorce is one of the most painful and stressful experiences to go through. It’s a confusing and isolating time. You probably have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. Don’t go through it alone!

DivorceCare is a support group led by people who understand what you’re going through. You will learn how to heal from the hurt of divorce and discover hope for your future.

What to expect

During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting, you’ll watch a video featuring top experts on divorce and recovery. The videos are produced in an interesting television format featuring expert interviews and real-life case studies.

After the video, the men and women will split up and spend time discussing what was presented, share what’s going on in your life, and support each other in moving forward.

The group will meet at Bedford Alliance Church (directions) in the sanctuary. The cost of a workbook is $20, which will be collected at the first meeting.

FAQ

Men and women often experience divorce differently. Having separate support groups allows for sharing similar experiences and can also make people more comfortable opening up. Also, divorce is a very vulnerable time that should be centered around healing. It can be tempting to fill the void with another person rather than taking the time to heal and rebuild. Having separate groups keeps members focused on the healing by eliminating the temptation to date fellow group members.
This group is to help those who are divorced. If you’ve filed divorce papers and are awaiting finalization, you are welcome to join us. If you’re separated or only considering divorce, we encourage you to seek counseling and reconciliation rather than join this group.
