Divorce

Divorce

God doesn’t hate divorced people. He hates the act of divorce because it hurts the people He loves. God says that when two people get married, “the two will become one” (1 Corinthians 6:16). It is God’s desire that marriage be a lifelong commitment.

If you’re currently considering divorce, know that God wants you to fight for your marriage. Adultery, betrayal, and disagreements don’t have to end your relationship. God has healed marriages before and He can do it again. We encourage you to see a counselor before ending your marriage. If your spouse isn’t willing to go, still seek counseling for yourself.

If you’re already divorced, know that God isn’t finished with you! You matter to Him and to the church. Nothing you’ve done in the past is too great for God’s forgiveness.
