Benevolence Ministry

The purpose of the Bedford Alliance Church Benevolence Fund is to provide financial aid to individuals in need on an urgent basis. The Benevolence Fund may not be applicable for cases which need long-term financial support. Bedford Alliance Church has the right to adjust or decline an applicant's request and may consider providing assistance other than monetary help. Financial assistance is always based on availability of benevolence funds. Applicants for financial assistance are awarded financial assistance based on financial need. Applicants are not granted financial assistance based on relationships between the applicant and Bedford Alliance Church leaders or significant church contributors. Bedford Alliance Church does not discriminate applicants based upon race, color, sex, national origin, age, or disability. However, Bedford Alliance Church reserves the right to discriminate based on religion.

Process:

  • Complete the Benevolence Request Form online.
  • Applicant must provide a copy of their driver's license or photo ID.
  • Forms will be reviewed, and applicant will be contacted within 3 business days.
  • Applicants may be asked to provide bills, invoices, eviction notices, paychecks, and other pertinent documentation that may assist in accurately understanding the financial situation. Bills must be in the individual's name requesting assistance. Bedford Alliance Church may speak directly to business/service provider.
  • If approved, a check will be made payable only to the business/service provider(s) to whom the bill(s) are owed.

Benevolence Fund Parameters:

  • Applicants do not need to attend Bedford Alliance Church but do need to be referred to the financial benevolence ministry by a church member or regular attendee. Person referring applicant must faithfully attend Bedford Alliance Church and have been attending for at least one year.
  • Bedford Alliance Church will not give cash or gift cards directly to individuals requesting assistance.
  • Bedford Alliance Church will not pay for hotel costs.
  • Benevolence funds can only be granted based on the merit of the application of the requestor to meet primary short-term needs.
  • Benevolence funds can only be granted to a requestor or requestor's immediate family one time during a 12-month period after assistance has been approved.
  • A maximum of $250 is available for assistance toward approved applications.
  • Bedford Alliance Church reserves the right to amend the fund parameters if deemed necessary.

Submitting this application does not guarantee you will be approved for assistance. Once you submit your application, it will be reviewed by Bedford Alliance Church. You will then be notified if it has been approved or denied.
