What is Tent City?
Tent City is an annual event in Toledo where the community comes together to support people currently living in shelters or on the streets. Tents are set up with various organizations and volunteers providing goods and services to those in need.
What does Tent City provide?
During Tent City's weekend, those in need can benefit from medical screenings, dental care, employment opportunities, assistance with returning to housing, and the provision of critical documents. Tent City also provides haircuts, food, and clothing.
How can I help?
Those living in shelters and on the streets are in desperate need of clothing, especially warm winter clothing. We're collecting items for hygiene bags and donations of new or gently used clothing of all sizes (men's, women's, and kid's sizes). Bring the following items to our donation table next to the Coffee House by Sunday, September 27:
Clothing:
- Coats
- Hats
- Gloves & Mittens
- Shoes (no sandals)
- Pants & Jeans
- Sweatshirts
- Long-sleeve shirts
- Socks
Hygiene Items:
- Shampoo
- Body Wash
- Deodorant
- Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
- Hand Lotion
- Chapstick
- Combs & Brushes
Donations can be brought on Sunday mornings during our services at 9 & 11 am, or during the week, Monday-Thursday, from 9 am-4 pm.
