Satan would love nothing more than to bombard you with lies, guilt, and shame, and to steal your identity. Fortunately, we are not left alone. When accusations and lies begin to pile up, we can stand on the truth of God’s promises about our identity in Jesus.
Read and memorize these verses so that you will be prepared to fight Satan’s lies.
I am completely forgiven.
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
I am unbelievably valuable.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” (Psalm 139:13-14).
I am conditionally loved.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
I have hope.
“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off” (Proverbs 23:18).
I have a purpose.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
I am free.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. – John 8:36
I am made new.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
